A little bit of followup to this issue.

As of iOS4 there should be no problem with links containing a 'target="_blank".' They should open as normal.
Now all we need to do is wait for the iPad to get iOS4 already!

The update for this and other things was submitted to Apple last week. So it shouldn't be too long now, if everything goes well. You are right though, all the date are correct internally. When you apply this update everything should just fine!
