Error message that feed exists but can't find it [Solved]

I have a feed that I have added to xFeed, but is now no longer showing. I thought it may have accidentally been deleted, but when I try to re-add it, I get an error message (error 1002) that the "feed exists".

How can I find it so I can either use it or delete it and reinstall it?

Will look into this and see if there is anything else to it. For the time being though, have a look at the feeds in the category you added the feed into for any misnamed feeds or names that may less than descriptive. I've done this before and noticed that a feed added itself with a default name of "RSS" and for some reason I kept glancing over it not noticing it was there! Thanks for asking, hopefully we can get this resolved for you.

Thanks! The feed is definitely not there. I even opened all the other feeds and they are what they are supposed to be. I also checked all my other categories thinking it may have somehow gotten misfiled, but that doesn't seem to be it either.

I'll watch for your reply.

Thank you for sharing, and staying with the thread. If this is a bug, it would be nice to get it squashed! If at all possible, could you provide some more information?

What version of the program are you using?
What if any versions did you upgrade from?
Is it possible to add this feed into any other categories?
What is the feed which is unable to be added/found?

For some reason my first reply didn't show up, so I hope this isn't showing twice.

I am using whatever the most current version of xFeed is out there. I downloaded it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, so I don't think it is an upgrade issue. I just checked, and it looks like I've got version 1.1.1 The feed I am trying to add is http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/needles

I just tried readding it under a different category and it didn't work. Next I tried adding a different feed type. I've typically been adding the RSS feed for each blog. However, this blog has three feed options. I tried adding the Atom feed and it worked, but when I then tried to edit the category and put it back into Art, it gave me an error message and said it couldn't save. I tried it again, and this time it took it.

So, for the time being, it looks like I'm all set. I just hope it doesn't disappear on me again, which is what happened initially. I'm fairly certain that I didn't edit or delete the feed and one time it was there and then another time I realized it was missing.

I'll let you know if I have trouble with this feed again.

The problem you are experiencing is very interesting. It sounds like something has happened with the database in the back end (corrupted install?) Haven't seen this in testing, or in experience yet, I'm glad you've shared this. Working with this problem has brought some good ideas on making the next version more robust when dealing with feeds. If you haven't invested too much time and it wouldn't be too much trouble, I would be curious if the problem persisted after uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

That was another thought I had. I'll see if I can find some time to do that....

As it turns out, this was a bug in xFeed 1.1.1.

The feeds would end up being ordered with the same number causing one of the feeds with the duplicate number to not be shown.

This bug has been fixed in xFeed version 2.0 and all missing feeds should be found.

Thank you for your input and patience.
