Podcasts & Radio [Solved]

Post by Guest »

Hello, how do I go about listening to podcast or radio? I created a new category named podcast, then added my URL's successfully, but I'm unable to listen to the selected podcasts. BTW, I'm using the iPad.

Hello there,

There should be nothing more to do other than what you are already doing. There may be differences depending on the method the site uses to to deliver its content ie: a flash player of some kind. If you would be willing to post a link to the content that is giving you trouble we can check it out.

Hi again, ok I'm not successful with any of the podcasts I have added. I can enter on the title of the podcast, then select the episode I want to listen to, then I click read full article, and it brings me to any text, not the audio. Here is an URL example. http://www.birdnote.org/birdnotepodcast.xml

Ahhh! I was very interested in the problem you were having. Thank you for posting a link as it clears the issue up. The problem isn't that it is a podcast feed, rather is it in the way the webpage is written. The problem is identical the the one outlined here http://www.nothingeverywhere.com/forum/ ... p=165#p165. It is not a fault in the way that the webpage is written, rather it is a difference in implementation in the particular control which displays the content.

To make a long story short. Pages containing links formatted in this particular manner will not open properly in versions of iOS prior to 4.0. As of now the iPad is running 3.2.x. As soon as the iPad gets a version of iOS 4.0 or greater the links should work as expected.

However, in the example URL you provided, if you click "download mp3" as opposed to "play mp3" you will be able to enjoy the podcast on your iPad.

Thank you for posting your question and I hope this clears things up.
